Ari Marcopoulos

Ari Marcopoulos was born in 1957 in Amsterdam. He is a photographer and filmmaker, living and working in New York and California. Ari began his career in New York City assisting Andy Warhol. He transplants himself into the intimate lives of people living on the edge very well. He focuses on subcultures of American youth such as artists, snowboarders, musicians and skateboarders. His wildly chosen landscapes and playful portraiture offer a dramatic take on every day urban life, and a glimpse into all things underground. Take a look.
